Handmade in France, the Louis XL Pendant from CVL Luminaires reimagines the warm and serene feeling you get from the sounds of Louis’ trumpet as a spirited light. The pendant’s fresh yet familiar aesthetic is owed to designer Émilie Cathelineau’s appreciation for vintage and contemporary designs. Cathelineau elegantly suggests the classic bell and pipe elements of a trumpet with a lamp holder that tapers finely to match the slender contour of the cord suspension. The holder’s brass construction further connects it to the brass instrument. While Louis blew into a mouthpiece to achieve a beautiful sound, French artisans do similar to achieve the intriguing blown glass shade. Like a trumpet’s mute, the shade caps of the bottom with an elegant pattern wrapping across. Light streams through the glass with a resonating quality for a comfortable ambiance.
